About
me…
Hey all, I’m
Lana.
I’m 19 years
old, born and raised in Chatham, Kent. I’m studying at MidKent College in Gillingham,
doing my first year of level 3 IT. This is now my 4th year at
college as I have previously studied level 2 Public Services and level 3
Applied Science. I currently have 5 tattoos, all of which have a special meaning
to me or show something I’m interested in. I am an Aquarius and have a love for
Tigers. I have 2 Musk Turtles, called Mikey and Leo, and a cat, called Tigga. I love to spend time with my friends and my boyfriend, Fish.
I have a great interest in music, usually
rock and classics such as Meatloaf and Bon Jovi. Favourite bands include Simple
Plan, Skillet, Lostprophets and Nickelback.
I love to
read, mainly crime based books, and I’m a big fan of authors like James
Patterson and Jeffery Deaver. Forever a kid at heart, I have a great love for
classic Disney movies, like The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Mulan, and have a
collection of old videos. Best Disney film, in my opinion, has got to be the
Lion King, such a good story line, but so sad in parts.
I love
forensics, the whole idea fascinates me and I’m hoping I can incorporate that
into my future career path by designing forensic based games. This way I can
use my love for science and forensics and my own knowledge on the subjects with
my interest in the designing of video games.

Personal
Development Plan…
The
job I am looking towards getting is a video game designer for a variety of
consoles. I’d like to design forensic based games as this
is something I am quite passionate about and interested in. I have achieved the
satisfactory GCSE grades to enrol onto the Level 3 IT course at college. I have
shown that I am punctual and a hard worker. I work well in a small group and
always get the task done.
I would
need to improve my English grade to a ‘C’ as part of my course and I need to
ensure I hand all assignments in on time through time management. I also need
to work on my self-confidence. I can achieve this by completing an extra class
on functional skills; this will give me the equivalent to a grade ‘C’ in
English. I can ensure all assignments are handed in on time by creating a
planner or time sheet on when to work on my assignments to ensure I have plenty
of time to complete them. I can work on my self-confidence by continuing to
work in groups and take part in class discussions/activities.
I have set myself the following targets;
- o To achieve at least an ‘MMM’ on my Level 3 IT course.
- o To ensure all assignments are handed in on time.
- o To complete functional skills and get my grade ‘C’ in English.
Technical
Skills…
The technical skills I have are basic use of a computer
system and basic use of computer software and hardware. Technical skills I need
to develop are graphics design and general computing as my career aim is to
design video games.
Soft
Skills…
The
soft
skills I have are that I’m a good listener, I have good communication skills
and I’m quite patient. I work well in a team, I’m good at helping others and I have
determination, passion and I am organised. Soft skills I need to develop are
confidence, experience, and time keeping and planning.
